Yeah soldier is a great counter to scouts! But im so shit as soldier it's unbelievable . I try as engineer which has some success but its a little dull for my liking.

If you want some light relief from public servers, me and Fawwles will be doing some mixes this weekend at #mpuktf2 on MIRC.
6v6's with class limits and no crits. Usually some very high quality play there. It's where the top clans practise like 4K, wotr^ etc.

Ive been looking to take part in a pickup sometime so yes I would be up for doing this. Im already signed up for one of the pickups I just cannot remember which one. Apparantly heavy isn't a good choice for 6v6, however I usually destroy everyone at 6v6 arena so we will see.
I think Valve is going to have to do a lot of tweaking soon for this patch. All three unlocks could use some changes to make them both more useful and the game more fun for everyone.
For starters, as much fun as I've been having with the Sandman, I don't think I'd ever use it except when I wanted to mess around since the loss of double jumping is bit too much. It would have been better had Valve thought up another down side to it, but then I suppose at least this way there will be less people using it. And since it can be pretty damn annoying to others, that's perhaps a good thing. Even if they don't change the downside to it, I still think though they should remove the stunning of ubers. It's hard enough to attack as it is (also made worse by the spy changes), and this just continues the trend of making ubers even more worthless.
The Force-a-Nature and Bonk could use a few tweaks as well. At moment then FaN is far too weak for the limited number of shots it has, and the knock back doesn't make up for that. The only class it is sort of useful against is pyros, but they were never a problem for scouts anyway. And though Bonk can be useful at times, it so highly situational it's currently not worth giving the pistol up for. A much better use of it would be if you could drink it whilst running and use it as an escape tool. They should just make it so there's a much longer wait time before being able to drink another to counter it being overpowered (or perhaps even make you have to go back to a resupply cabinet).
they made a huuuuuuuge (imagine the huuuuuuge to continue endlessly) mistake concerning the BONK. i couldnt believe when i realized that i couldnt take the intel with it. many achievements target ctf maps and ctf-mode would have been dramatically improved if the scout was able to get the intel out of the sentry-overloaded base. every team would have to defend over the whole map and couldnt turtle-defend in their base. i was looking forward to playing ctf maps more often with good teams and much more variety in gameplay.
by the way, general and me succeeded with the only tactic capable for ctf with a scout: i used BONK, distracted the sentries and general ran in and captured the intel.
this shouldnt be the only way to use this drink.
All weapons seem to be designed to annoy my current main class, heavy. I simply can't play as it anymore without getting destroyed by scouts firing baseballs at me. Or pushing me off ledges. Very annoying, considering giving up public servers at this rate .
Not played much heavy since the patch and, though I've had a lot of fun messing with them as a scout, I don't think you should ever really have to worry too much about.
Sure, getting stunned can be annoying, but as long as you keep your distance or don't wander off on your own they shouldn't really being killing you. But then this has always been the case with that class. The heavy has always been a bit weak without a medic or other classes backing him up (made up for though in being an absolute terror when he does have a medic).
And if a scout does get in close, you shouldn't be worrying about the knockback from the FaN. If the scout is good, it's much better to face him with that weapon and get pushed away than having him running rings around you up close with the scattergun. Because if that happens, there's a pretty good change you'll come out the worse in that fight.

I believe a scout shouldn't be allowed to take the intel under the influence of Bonk.
The last tactic you mentioned though sounds very viable, and should be almost as useful.
A scout under bonk drawing sentry fire is like a mini uber ! You want him to be able to take the intel aswell ??

Well the annoying thing was that before the patch my specialism was actually to do exactly that, wander off on my own and ambush people, killing many many people. I can't do this anymore which is disappointing. It's more of the fact that a scout can kill me in a straight firefight, he barely needs to dodge or run away since he can blow you away from him or stun you. It's unplayable now.
Honestly the only time I can have fun with this game is to use scout and spam their stupid weapons.
