k so here comes my questions!
can i use 1 to play, let's say tf2, and other to chat via msn?
or if i connect 2 monitors, it throws the half of the image on the second monitor instantly?
how does it work?
i have a monitor with bunch of dead pixels on it, and i am gonna buy a new one..
and i am sick and tired of alt tabbing mah games to chat with my friends or switch the music from winamp..
can this be done? one monitor tf2, other windows desktop? |

| I sometimes do this. you cna clone or extend desktop. If you extend desktop you get to play tf2 in one while having the second part of the desktop an whatever you drag into it. However you have to al+tab to write/click aoround/etc. So this makes the setup a bit useless. But I think there is a software somwhere that helps. |

| i believe you need seperate soft to get it going on 2 monitors just as Calin said.. extending desktop never worked for me i get games fullscreen on main monitor only. If you set them up to work independetly you can have msn window opened on 2nd monitor though you will have to alt-tab to type on it.. |

| as said above, you will have to alt-tab to do anything on the second monitor unless you play say tf2 in window mode 2 monitors while gaming is a bit useless, but so handy to have when using other applications, also for me i couldnt run in sli if i had duel monitors on. |

I've done a little more research as TBH i wasn't upto date on SLI, i don't ever plan to go SLI, i just get one big kick-ass GPU ;)
The whole idea of SLI is to have two cards running as if they're one big card, mainly for gaming, so you have to choose between two seperate cards(each running one monitor) or sli...
There would be little/no advantage of running 2 monitors, one from each card, AND having SLI enabled, the only advantage i can think of would be if one screen had a lot of action displayed on one monitor and required more processing power, but as Nvidia have no support for this in their drivers...
however is this not as how it works running dual screen off one card and SLI enables? :S sorry I don't know enough about SLI and don't have the time to research further, maybe someone else can help more? |

My advice to anyone would be dont go sli lol 2 separate cards it was enougher of my mistakes but dont like empty slots on my motherboard and at 240-280 fps on tf2 when ya cannot notice the difference over what do they say? 60 fps or something all seems abit of a waste although with games like farcry it does come into it own! |
